About Us
JPM Silicon develops and implements technologies for the production, refinement and recycling of silicon. Today, silicon is an indispensable raw material for our society: as an alloying element, in chemical products or in solar cells and computer chips. Yet production is energy-intensive and associated with indirect and direct CO2 emissions.
Our long-term goal is to produce CO2-neutral silicon. Our focus is on silicon for solar cells - and thus a truly green energy supply.

Our Team
Since his school days, JPM Silicon founder Dr.-Ing. Jan-Philipp Mai (35) has been passionate about solar energy. He was particularly fascinated by silicon, the raw material that solar cells use to convert sunlight into electricity.
Like a thread, the topic runs from the first "Jugend forscht" competitions in 2001, through his mechanical engineering studies and doctorate. A first patent application laid the foundation for the founding of the company.
Since then, the team has been developing innovative technologies under the brand JPM Silicon along the entire value chain - so that solar cells not only deliver green electricity, but are also produced sustainably.
